Opening Reflection
There are seasons in life when strength feels easy — and seasons when simply getting out of bed requires faith.
For me, movement has become more than exercise. Pilates has become a reminder that caring for our bodies is a sacred responsibility. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I believe our bodies are gifts from God. They carry us through service, motherhood, work, grief, joy, and growth.
Pilates teaches me something spiritual every time I step onto the mat: strength is built slowly, intentionally, and with patience.
Just like faith.
Scripture Reflection
“Know ye not that ye are the temple of God?” — 1 Corinthians 3:16
I love this reminder because it shifts movement away from appearance and toward stewardship.
Exercise does not need to be punishment. It can become gratitude in motion.
A Gentle Pilates Practice for Grounding
Try this simple grounding sequence when life feels heavy or overwhelming:
1. Seated Breathing — 60 seconds
Sit tall
Place hands on ribs
Inhale deeply through the nose
Exhale slowly and soften the shoulders
2. Pelvic Tilts — 10 reps
Gently mobilize the spine
Focus on slow control
3. Cat-Cow Stretch — 8 reps
Coordinate movement with breath
Allow tension to release
4. Child’s Pose — 1 minute
Rest
Breathe
Be still
Encouragement
You do not need to become perfect overnight.
Small faithful efforts matter.
One prayer. One breath. One stretch. One choice to care for yourself.
That is still progress.
Closing Thought
My hope through Pilates With Adrianne is to create a place where women can feel strengthened mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Not through pressure. But through peace.
